MUNICH, GERMANY — Two people lost their lives and 19 others remain hospitalized following a fatal bus crash early Sunday morning on the A96 motorway in Bavaria, Germany. The Italian coach, carrying roughly 30-40 passengers, most of whom are Filipino nationals, was traveling from Milan to Munich for the annual Oktoberfest celebrations when it veered off the road and overturned into roadside brush, according to local and international media reports.
The crash occurred Sunday morning. Emergency responders mobilized a major rescue operation at the scene, deploying fleet vehicles and ambulances. Two individuals died at the scene from their injuries. Emergency crews transported the casualties directly to regional trauma centers and surrounding hospitals.
An additional 22 passengers were initially treated for minor injuries. Officials confirmed that 19 passengers currently remain hospitalized.
